About John Galianos
John Galianos joined the Sûreté du Québec in 1968. Over the course of his career, he served as a major crime investigator and as a team supervisor of the Crimes Against Persons' Unit - Homicide and Armed Robbery.
In 1976, he was selected by a special committee of the Sûreté du Québec to be formally trained at the Keeler Polygraph Institute, in Chicago, thus becoming their first polygraph examiner, pioneering the Polygraph Division as it exists today.

In 1990, Mr. Galianos founded the firm of Galianos Polygraphe Expert. Since that time, the firm has been providing polygraph services to government, law enforcement and security organizations, the legal community, the private sector and to citizens.
Galianos Polygraphe Expert also offers specialized training programs in the use of the polygraph, interviewing, interrogation and courtroom testimony.
Since becoming a polygraph examiner for the Sûreté du Québec in 1976, and up to the present day in the private sector, Mr. Galianos has administered more than 5,000 polygraph examinations in Canada, the United States and Europe.
He is a consultant and lecturer on the following subjects:
- Investigative Techniques
- Interviewing and Interrogation
- Courtroom Testimony
- Use of the Polygraph
Mr. Galianos is a court-qualified expert witness and has testified before the Federal Court of Canada, the Québec Superior Court, the Court of Québec, the Québec Labour Court and the Roberge Commission of Inquiry.
Throughout his career, he has authored several articles on the polygraph and on interviewing and interrogation that have been published in law enforcement and security magazines.
He is a member of the following professional associations:

Mr. Galianos regularly attends advanced training programs given by the Canadian Association of Police Polygraphists and the American Polygraph Association in an ongoing quest to remain on the leading edge of the evolution in the field of Polygraphy.
