I just wanted to let people know that I will be in Ottawa for the Christmas Holidays and that the web site will not be updated until my return. I'd like to also take this time to thank everyone who collaborated in making this page a success. Even though it is a lot of work, I really enjoy doing it since I think it is an essential tool to keep in touch and keep the QEHS memories alive.
I'd like wish you and you your families all the best in this Holiday Season. For those of you travelling....drive safely.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Chris Miller (Grad '85) sent me some useful information about viruses and hoaxes.
"The following message has been sent out by email. It is a hoax. This "virus" does not exist.
The hoax message includes the following "warning":
'Warning on December 25, 1999 you may receive an
email called, Lump of Coal...Don't open it, it
contains a deadly virus...it will erase Windows
along with many other program files. Pass this
on as soon as you can to get the WORD out!!! This
is not a hoax....this was reported on the CBS
morning news August 20,1999.'
Please ignore any messages regarding this supposed "hoax" and do not pass on any messages regarding it. Passing on messages about this hoax serves only to further propagate it."
Motoaki Yamamura (Symantics, makers of Norton Antivirus.)
Posted December 20th,1999
I didn't realize that people would get that upset with me for sending the Microsoft email. I'd like to apologize to everyone and say that it won't happen again. After doing some research on the Symantics Virus webpage, I found out that it was a hoax.
My apologies,

Does anyone know Susan Troy's address?
Can someone help me? Did they move the chemistry lab to the classroom across from the gym in school. Because when I went to school it was up on the 2nd floor. Just trying to figure out about news on the propane leak.

I saw Libby Morrell a couple of years ago, she was
teaching at MacDonald-Cartier HS in St Hubert where my
son Brad attended. Also heard that Jackie Keeley is
teaching in the Eastern Townships. Had dinner with
Barb and Buzz Troy about four or five years ago they
were here to visit Roddy, they are living in New
Brunswick and Maine and enjoying retirement. Roddy was
living in Pointe Claire, Carla in New Brunswick, Karen
in BC and Suzie in New Brunswick at that time. Rick
Laverty was teaching at Chateauguay Valley Regional HS
in Ormstown five or six years ago. I was coaching a HS
BBall team at the time and met him at a game.

It turns out that it wasn't a fire but a stink bomb (with a very bad propane smell).
There was NO fire at Queennie on Saturday, Nov. 28th. The incident took place during a basketball game and for security reasons the school was evacuated. The school was evacuated because they first thought it was a leak from the propane tanks from the Chemistry Lab (the lab is next to the gym).
Lise Babin (QEHS)
Posted November 30th,1999
I don't know if you've heard, but there was a fire at QEHS
yesterday! Unfortunately, I don't have very much information about the
incident. The radio report said that all the students were evacuated from
the school and that some students said that the smell of propane was very
strong in the moments before the fire.
