The following message was submitted but the person (Grad '80) didn't leave their name or email address :
Hello Queenie Grads, I have been living in Lower Sackville for the last ten years with my wife Coleen and son Mitchell. I have completed my 20th year with the Military and still am enjoying it. I have travelled in many different areas of the world during my time with the Air Force and Navy. I am presently employed in Canadian Forces Base Halifax and working in managing over 150 personnel on the East Coast.
I am estatic about this site and check it on occasion. I have had the pleasure to send out some E-mails and always looking forward to hear from any of the 1980 graduates.
Well done to all the folks who had an input in creating this site and keep up the excellent work.

Hi Steve. Nope :( , I'm not an Alumni of your High School Queenie, but from Jean du
Nord and Manikoutai. I however had quite a few wonderful times at your school with some of my best friends; Cheryl Gibbon, Lyndsay Meerschaut, Dina Lavallee and some
more from the Pathfinders (Girls Guides of Canada) and The Ventures (Boys
Scouts). My sister and I were the first Girls admitted, voted in, to the
Ventures group, I have a picture of the troop if your interested? I know I
would love to have the names of all the boys in it, all of them were from
Queenie.
- Even though I was from the French part, to this day I'm thankful that
I had a chance to be part of the Queenie experience: my first dance (held in
the Gym), boyfriend and teen experiences was from your school and my spoken
English, limited as it was!
- I also played against your school girls basketball team with the
Manikoutai Huskies teams, I believe seasons 82-83, 83-84 and 84-85.
- I come to the site to see how old friends are doing, I'm a browser on
your site ;) I have been coming since last December when I became home sick
(haven't been back to 7-Islands since I left in March 85 for Colombia, South
America) and typed in some name and found your site, PS the overhead picture
of 7-Ilands made me cry.
- Well, I hope you don't mind me coming on your site, and hope the best
for your site. Might be nice if you added a place for the different clubs and
socials that people belonged to: Scout, Guides, sports teams, etc., and maybe
a friend to Queenie section for people who didn't graduate but attended your
school and had to leave? I would love to know what happened to Brenda Keeper,
sister of Steve, don't know the year he was in you school?
- From a friend not so down under, Alabama, USA,
Sonja Skrzypczak-Safadi, S22sky@aol.com,
friend of Queenie!

I would love to see more messages from my generation of classes (67-70). I know you are our there, because you shared this information with me. I did make it to Sept Iles this summer with my family. We were thrilled at the scenery driving up the Cote Nord, shocked at the traffic and impressed with the wonderful tourist information and rest stop facilities along the way. Gone are days of not seeing another soul for 1-2 hours. Thought area along the bay was great, enjoyed a cruise and saw a whale (big hit in back to school essays) and marveled at the bike paths filled with rollar bladers and bikers of all ages. Girls swam at the beach in unbelievable warm water! What happened to the ice cold, turn your feet blue water I( and my brothers ) remember? Enjoyed wonderful meals at some neat restaurants, disappointed in the rundown condition of the Old Fort (remember its excavation and construction, gala opening in celebration of Confederation). Unable to see all we wanted to in a three day visit. Kids willing to visit again, but did ask to fly! Could not find one decent pastry shop, but too many donuts!

Anybody from QEHS member of the Hash House Harriers? If you are, did you know that the Edmonton Bash (hashing on bikes) is planning a week of cycling in India the week after Inter-Hash 2002 in Goa? If you want to join the pack e-mail me and get on your bike!!!!! For all you non-Hashers out there Hashing has nothing to do with hash as you know it. And, if you want to join " A Drinking Group With A Running Problem" go to www.eh3.org and link up with a "Hash" in your area. Too much fun!!! The Hash also walks and cycles in some communities. It's all free, just lots of fun.

Hello, I'm not a grad from Queen E. but I did hold classes in film and acting after school.(78-79) I'm living in Edmonton and usually spend Christmas day with Michel LaMontagne. He lives here too by the way. I still hold film workshops at FAVA (Film and Video Arts Society of Alberta) I also sit on the board of directors as their film chair. I like the idea of a reunion. Too bad it has to be 5 years away - why not make 2002 a year to remember. I can't wait 5 years to see what everyone has been up to and I'm sure I'm not alone on that thought. Montreal in the summer of 2002 sounds like a great choice for a Sept-Iles reunion. Hello everyone in cyberspace! I am writing to inform you about a few things:
1. My girlfriend (Tracy) and I will be moving in together on July 1 (yes, my wild bachelor days are over). Here is my new address & phone number:
2219 Prud'homme, Apt #10
Montreal, Qc, H4A 3H3
Tel: (514) 486-0661
2. As some of you know, I recently opened my chiropractic practice. It is in a huge health complex that used to be a hospital. There are medical doctors, specialists, dentists, physiotherapists, psychologists, acupuncturists, massage therapists, homeopathists, naturopaths,...and now a chiropractor! Having only been opened a few weeks, I am happy to say that things are going well.
Here are my coordinates, feel free to contact me if you or someone you know may need my help:
Queen Elizabeth Health Complex
2100 Marlowe, Suite 408
Montreal, Qc. H4A 3L5
Tel: (514) 483-3444
(in NDG - Decarie and Sherbrooke, near Vendome metro)
3. I have made a pamphlet outlining a little bit
about chiropractic, a little bit about my practice,
and a little bit about me. I will be emailing it to
you soon for your information or to forward it on to
someone who may be interested...
4. As soon as I get the chance to breathe, I will be
writing a monthly electronic newsletter of health tips
for my friends, family, and patients. When you
receive it, if you decide you do not want it any more
in the future, just send me a note saying "leave me
alone!"; no problem.
Well folks, that's it for now,
thanks for reading and take care,

Just found out about this website from Barb Mclean. It seems appropriate, as this is the summer my husband and I have decided to drive our three daughters (16, 13 and 10) to Sept Iles for a summer vacation to see where Mom grew up. It's a big change from their dad's hometown(San Francisco!), but still on the water. My brothers are alive and well. Three of us live in Ohio, Fred and Henry in Broadview Hts.(about 25 minutes from me), David in Northfield, Vermont and James in St. Louis, Missouri. I will be sending this website to each of them, so that they may contribute their own news. Our dad died in Dec 99, but our mom is doing well. I have been in the Cleveland area for 23 years, previously living in San Francisco, California and Denver, Colorado. Graduated from the University of Vermont and later the University of California. Both degrees are in Nursing and have always worked in the mental health field. I would love to hear from others of my vintage.

I'm living in London, ON and I received the most surprising phone call the other night from my most dearest and bestus friend ever "Karen Morris". She is living in Sept-Iles and surprised the "heck" out of me. Meanwhile 3 hours later and a sore red ear we rekindled our friendship and laughed a bucket of tears. Anyway, she told me about this web site and I've been on it for almost an hour reading messages and looking at the scenic pictures of the place that holds alot of memories for the 5 years I lived there (thankyou very much). Seriously, I want to congradulate the webmasters on a wonderful job and excellent idea. Thanks for giving us all a chance to get back in touch with some of the people who "touched our hearts" and will never go unforgotten. Although I graduated from Manikoutai, I spent one very interesting year at Queen E (spent a fair amount of time in Mr. Troy's office explaining why I left the school grounds without permission).

Hi Friends,
Summer is coming soon and if we are to have a reunion in 2000, we need to start organizing it soon. I have been getting a lot of feedback concerning the reunion and about 57% said "yes" to the question "able to attend in 2000?" and 38% said "maybe".
We will need to form a committee and have some people from Sept-Iles, Quebec City, Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto etc..... making phone calls and sending emails. I would like to ask some of the older graduates who had organized the reunion in 1985 to get back to me with information on how they had organized it.
Thanks for your time,

A week ago I was sitting in a bar with my brother (John) and my wife, when a vaguely familiar face stopped at our table, pointed at me and said "You're from Seven Islands." She turned to my brother and said "So are you." After letting us squirm for a few seconds, Wanda Court told us her name.
You may know this already, as she seemed to be in touch with (or at least aware of) everybody. I suggested she update this site, which she knows about, but I guess she'd have to get her sister (Gail) to handle it.
Anyway, Wanda briefly advised that Brent is alive and well, living near here, as are Ralph Feger, Andrew MacEachern, Lorenzo Conejo, and others. Wanda, too, lives just East of Toronto, and if memory serves (it was a bar, remember) has two young children (8 and 4).

Just want to say its great that Mr.Troy is doing well and even took the time to post here. The two of us had many one sided conversations in the past and I'll tell you NOW I think it was moments that I would not change for anything and would do it all over if I had to. (best part was shoveling your driveway during Mr.Louthers class just so you could keep the peace during his class.) even when I had to spend all my spare classes in your office so you could keep your ever watchfull eye on me.
Thanks for everything.
P.S. maybe I should let you talk to my boss cause he has no clue how to handle me...nope can't do it. I get away with alot you could give him too many hints and ruin my fun.
Your still the toughest man I have ever met in my mind, don't ever change. If you and your wife ever come out to Edmonton the door is open, just knock and walk.

Good to see all the people signing on. I had been in touch with Catherine Martell until this year when she moved back east to Toronto. Now have had my Christmas card returned. Anyone know where she is? Sam Keats is living in Fort St John as well. Ran into him several years ago, and still see him now and then. Hi! to Heather and Steven. Brenda Chance was also living on the West Coast and we had contact until a few years ago. Anyone interested is welcome to contact me.

Does he have an e-mail address? If he does, Could ask him to drop me a line at greg_metivier@hotmail.com. Thanks. Glad to hear from them.
