Frozen Shadows
was invoqued in late 1995 with the unholy alliance of Myrkhaal and Namtar,
following the departure of both warriors from Tenebrae, another Black
Metal outfit created by Myrkhaal in 1993. Driven by their lust for the
Art, both tortured souls set out to create the darkest breed of music
from the new continent. The first musical offering of Frozen Shadows,
the "Empires de Glace" demo, was unleashed on the 21st of
December 1996. This demo quickly spread Frozen Shadows' name and was
later re-released in 2000 on CD format through Germany's Millenium Music,
all copies being sold out now.
After "Empires
de Glace", the group was plagued by some line-up changes. When
everything settled into place, Frozen Shadows became a trio in 1998,
with Alvater on guitars, Myrkhaal on vocals and keyboards and Namtar
on bass and drums. Having been silent for a long time, Frozen Shadows
decided not to wait for labels to make offers, and rather recorded their
album "Dans les Bras des Immortels", which was released through
Myrkhaal's own label Sepulchral Productions on July the 31st of 1999.
The band's debut was very well received everywhere, being in every way
stronger than the demo. Distributed throughout the world "Dans
les Bras des Immortels" has established Frozen Shadows as one of
the most violent and dark Black Metal outfits to ever walk this cursed
earth.
Seing the
potential in the group, a few labels started to show interest towards
Frozen Shadows following their first album. Plans to record a promo
CD in 2001 were cut short by the necessity of finding a new drummer.
Since the songs were getting even faster and more technical, Namtar
decided to quit as a drummer because he did not have enough time to
dedicate to the drums. This is when Melkor's path crossed with Frozen
Shadows, the band recruiting this extremely talented drummer in Autumn
of 2001. The group recorded its promo CD in 2002; after studying various
offers, Frozen Shadows opted to go with France's Holy Records and signed
a 4 album deal with the label. The band's second album “Hantises”
was recorded in the end of 2003 and will be released on the 8th of March
2004. This new assault on humanity will once again demonstrate the true
extremism of Frozen Shadows...
